Fuel Pressure

Hey all, I recently installed a electronic FP gauge. I tee'd it off of my fuel filter, but even under boost my FP gauge reads between 40-60 PSI. My base FP is around 55, so why with the stock JR FMU at a rise rate of 5:1 aren't I seeing a FP around 85-90psi?
Did I connect it in the wrong place? My A/F guage shows green when I'm boosting, so I think the JR FMU is working right...

What kind of electronic FP gauge did you get? First, make sure the ground is grounded well. Second, check the power source for the gauge. Third, check the sending unit. I had a bunch of sending units go bad on me. If your gauge is an intellitronix/nordskog gauge it's probably a bad sending unit.

it's an autometer gauge. It could be the sending unit... the gauge acts in a consistent manner, so i think the power supply is fine. The gauge should be tee'd off the fuel filter, right? Not the fuel rail?

You CAN tee it off of the fuel rail but most people tee it off of the fuel filter. If the gauge acts in a consistent manner then it's probably a bad sending unit.

DO you have any plans on dynoing you car soon...its a great way to compare the under hood guage to the in cabin one??...or stick you best friend under the hood to yell out the fuel pressure while you are doing full boost runs up and down the road [img]smile.gif[/img] ...just kidding...the first idea works well

also I have seen people buy a short piece of rubber fuel injection hose and some barbed hose adapters and temporaily mount the under hood guage outside of the engine compartment....just to be safe you can tape it to the windshield...and it should only cost you $10
